The role of a saint or sage is to maintain the kindness of our hearts.
As the ancient believe, the true heart is intrinsically kind. At birth, it is said a child are born with a good heart, and as they grow up may loses it due to bitter circumstances. However, it is the duty of the saints and sages to support the protection, development and maintance of a kind heart.
The irony is that foolish people may see a kind heart as a weakness but a wise person knows that fundamentally having a kind heart is essential for spiritual and psychological well being. The one who is connected to their heart is ultimately the true winner.
