The right spiritual path do not let the ego grow nor reinforce it. There are no room for narcissitic, self righteous, self centred or conceited attitude to grow.
The mind should not be selfish but selfless. During meditation or recitation the mind should be free from the mark of self and others, and just focus on the meditation subject. Without the mark of self and others, there are no comparing, no competiting or no contending, and so there are no jealousy, no hatred or no act of obstructing others' spiritual training.
Meditate or recite sincerely with one single mind.
