‘To study Buddhism is to study yourself,
To study yourself is to forget yourself,
To forget yourself is to perceive yourself as all things.’
My thoughts on it:

When to start a new leaf?
Sometime when appropiate, when you can't solve the problem, start a new leaf.

Materials on "Conceit"
An interesting story of pride comes from Professor Martin Verhoeven who used to be Bhikshu Heng Chau. This is the gist of it. One time, he was battling with pride (as throughout his life, he always wanted to be No.1), so he went the other direction - he became humble. One day, his teacher, Master Hsuan Hua saw what he'd been doing and decided to check him out to see how humble he really was. So Master Hua took Heng Chau's hat, threw it on the ground and started stamping on it. Heng Chau was speechless! "Hey Shifu, that's MY hat!" After that, Master Hsuan Hua said to him something like, "The humility that you are cultivating is not real humility. You are cultivating humility for the sake of showing off to the world and saying, 'Hey, look at me, I am No.1 in humility - no one is more humble than me!' - that's not it either". So the Master probably dusted off his hat, gave it back to him, smiled and said, "Keep practicing ;)"
There is actually a threefold conceit - I am superior is a conceit, I am inferior is a conceit, I am equal to is a conceit (A 6.49) and that if one who has fully penetrated through these has put an end to suffering. So here, I am superior, I am inferior and I am equal to is still self view and is comparing yourself to others. The "I am" is the conceit, the self view.
"Those samanas and brahmins who, relying on the impermanent, unsatisfying and transitory nature of material form, feelings, perceptions, mental formations and consciousness, conceive that: ˜I am better", or ˜I am equal", or ˜I am worse", all these imagine thus through not understanding reality."
~ S 22.49
What sort of reflections can help see through this self view?
"Whatever form... feeling... perception... mental formations ... consciousness there are: past, future or present; internal or external; gross or subtle; inferior or superior; far or near – all should be seen as they really are through true wisdom
thus: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.

Don't lose your will power
Once you lose your will, you pretty much lose everything... so keep sharp, keep focus & your eyes on the goal
Anger is one letter short from dAnger
Anger is One letter short from dAnger. I've seen it messed up friendship, broken family, relationship, created wars etc...
It is also a fire and blade into the heart, which attack and hurt you soul. Self affliction it's called.

Psychological warfare in modern days society
We are going through a time when there are no major wars in the world, but a large psychological war fare between us and the social pressure, media brainwash & technology that impose (subtle or assertive) deviant psychological views upon us. Views steming from identity of who we are, what we should be, what we must have, our way of life etc... Complicated psychological disorder arise from such that perhaps professional cannot help. How many more will passively be consume by it? When will we wake up?

The beauty of not knowing (sometimes)
The beauty of not knowing.
Things becomes mysterious
Things becomes wonderful because mystery lingers.
There is no limit or definition to it, where anything goes,
like magic, anything could appear
from glittered radiant unicorn to the dragon ocean palace,
that's what makes it so wonderful and enchanting.
Not knowing is beautiful,
it has no limit and that's what makes it great, vast and boundless, a wonderful feeling.
There is inconceivableness & wonders in not knowing.
Having to know everything in a conceptual way can be an addiction,
insecurities fall upon those who crave knowing the world in concepts and theories.
When trying to comprehend the worldly concepts into the mind, where will it ever end?
When can one truely live?
When can one just be, and let one experience the world
Living and not just thinking and conceptualising?
Of course fundamental conceptual knowledge is vital to ger us through the day, but there are limits, when one should just live and think it's ok that we can't comprehend worldly life with out minds.
But one thing to remember, I heard that we can once comprehend the whole universe through spirituality and not just mere discriminative conceptual conscious brain.
The true understanding of life can only be comprehended via the purity of mind though the "way"

Where are you heading? What are you doing?
Damn, don't people stop and think what they are doing nowadays? Drifting along the tides, and not questioning where they're riding into...

Voice of the ancient masters - The way
I heard wisdom echoing from the past;...
Those who only pray may not be enough.
Those who only have doctrine knowledge may not be enough.
Those who only keep the precepts may not been enough.
Those who only keep a pure heart & mind may not be enough.
One needs a pure heart & mind, pure preceptions (action & speech), pure prayer and wisdom to guide them through... and more... The 3 teachings... the 8 noble path... etc...

Voice of the ancient masters - The bright path
One are bought up in this world, become attacked and act densively by being offensive, then their ego grows until they become bitter and arrogant, filled with hatred until they walk the dark destructive path. Only once a wise man appears and speak words of light and truth to bring inner peace and clarity. Through research, these are the words I have heard "collectively":
One needs wisdom, awareness, patience, forgiveness, letting go and love.
One needs "wisdom" to know what is wholesome or not & avoid the dark path.
One needs "awareness" to "avoid" foolish people & the poisons afflictions of the mind.
One needs "patience" to endure the hardship of life and abuse from others.
One needs "forgiveness" to pardon the harm others do to them.
One needs to "let go" of the bitterness others have caused them.
One needs to "love" others in an unattached loving kindness way, as that is the way of the heavens.
That is what I was taught, and that is what helped me through hardship and that is what I believe.

You (reality) VS You (self views)
The contradiction from what you view yourself (label yourself( and how you really feel inside must really confuse you.

Problem with beauty and ugliness
Beauty can be a disease to the mind if arrogance is uncontrolled; unattractiveness can be a disease to the mind if insecurity and un-natural paranoia is uncontrolled. Just be!
See beyong forms and look into the hearts and mind.

Treat your anger with loving kindness to transform it
If you find yourself angry at yourself for being angry (loop effect), then tend to your anger with loving kindness and in time the anger will transform into gentle loving kindness.
It is sort of like using your primary direct thoughts to change your emotions?
Treat you anger with gentleness, love and care, and in time your anger will transform into peace, gentleness, love and care.
